Hello,
This is my second posting. Its all ready July and we're all recovering from the humid heat we've had this past week. So with the gardens planted and we're tired of watching the tomato's grow, I think its time to do a creative project. So set up your fans to stay cool and lets get creative!
I'm in the middle of sewing a set of drapes for my daughters new house. Panels are the really easy to make and are forgiving if you do make mistakes. Cut your length including at least 8" for hems and 8" for top pocket. We are making rod pocket drapery panels, one width each. Cut your lining about the same length. Put a hem in the lining fabric, and drapery fabric. Lay the lining fabric over the back of the front fabric. don't match the hems. You want the lining to be higher (2-3") then drapery. Put your side hems in. Fold over side hems 2" twice and iron flat. Now you can either sew by hand or machine sew the side hems. When you are done, fold over the top making a pocket. Press and hang. If you have any ? call or email me. Happy sewing!
